Authorities arrest Dundee man on sexual abuse charges

    DUNDEE—Daniel E. White, 45, of 27 Highland Dr. was arrested in Dundee Monday, Feb. 25 after state police responded to an incident where White allegedly approached a 12-year-old student who was walking home from school. White is being charged with one count of sexual abuse in the second degree, one count of forcibly touching and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
    According to the state police, White approached the student in an intoxicated state and proceeded to inappropriately touch them. The child was able to get away from White and immediately ran away from the suspect, making their way home safely. The child reported the incident to family members who then called the state police.
    Upon talking to the victim, the state police received a description of the suspect. White was later located and apprehended for the inappropriate touching of a 12-year-old. White was then transported to the Yates County Jail where he is currently being detained.
    White is being held on the three charges at $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in the village of Dundee court at a later date.
