Barrington town board 12/28/11

Meeting:  The Barrington town board met Wednesday, Dec. 28, for one hour and 30 minutes.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were four members of the public in the audience.
Action:  The board approved the fire contracts with the villages of Dundee and Penn Yan.  Clerk Joy Perry said the board members wanted it on record that while they agreed to sign the contract with Penn Yan, they were not happy with it.
    • A number of year-end and other budget transfers were approved, including amounts of $20,000, $1,094.25, $1,500, $360, and $2,500.  An account was also designated for Federal Emergency Management Agency funds totaling $41,155.69.
Bids/purchases over $1,000:  Perry said the board discovered it had never been billed in January of 2011 for Wayne fire department coverage because the money was still in the budget.  The board paid the bill ($4,360).  Perry said the town expects the new bill in January of 2012.
Appointments/resignations:  The board went into executive session to interview a possible new town attorney.  No decision was made.  Previous attorney, Derek Brocklebank, has told the board he does not want to serve as the town’s attorney any more.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular town board meeting is Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m.
