Cayuta crash results in one fatality

    CAYUTA—A crash on Route 13 in the town of Cayuta, Wednesday, April 17, resulted in the death of a Pine City man.
    According New York State Police Public Information Officer Mark O'Donnell, Edward Farmer, 50, Pine City, was traveling northbound on 13 when he crossed the line and crashed head-on into another vehicle.  The incident report said the accident happened around 5:44 a.m.
    O'Donnell said Farmer was pronounced dead at the scene.  Authorities added the second driver, Wayne Frisbie, 39, Dansville, complained about back pain and was taken to Schuyler Hospital.  O'Donnell said as of Friday, April 19, he doesn't know why Farmer crossed lanes.
    Law enforcement staged a reconstruction of the accident that same Wednesday.  O'Donnell said the investigation can take several weeks.  At the time of the crash, Route 13 leading to the accident was cut off to traffic.
