Dailey keeps the lead in coroner's race

YATES COUNTY—The Yates County Board of Elections is announcing that Ron Dailey won the coroner’s seat in the 2011 general election.
Democratic Commissioner Robert Brechko said the total numbers would be released by the end of the day, after press time.  However, he added nothing has changed in the coroner’s contest from an announcement Thursday, Nov. 17, that Dailey had the lead.
“Ron Dailey won the coroner’s race,” said Brechko.
Dailey was the only candidate on the ballot for coroner in the Nov. 8 general election, but seven other people ran write-in campaigns.  Charles Stackhouse led in write-in votes, falling only 103 votes behind Dailey according to the original, unofficial numbers.  On Nov. 17 the board of elections said they had counted all but 45 absentee ballots and Dailey still had a 92 vote lead over Stackhouse.
