Dresden village board 02/03/10

Meeting:  The Dresden village board met Wednesday, Feb. 3 for 50 minutes.
Attendance:  Mayor Loujane Johns was the only board member absent.  There were four members of the public in the audience.
Action:  A public hearing was set during the April 7 village board meeting, from 7:30 to 8 p.m., for the budget.
• The board approved using a water testing facility in Canandaigua that the department of public works recommended.  Clerk Terry Dilts said it could save the village about $1,800 a year.
Discussion without action:  Dilts reported there was only one election petition received.  It was from Trustee Dan Egburtson for his current position.  He was appointed by Johns to take her position when she became mayor.
• Fire Chief Charlie Leach reported two assistant chiefs are having problems with lights on their vehicles.  The fire department received a price of $410 each.  Leach said he wanted to get four lights.
Appointments/resignations:  The board approved Sue Morris and Elsie Goodman to be election inspectors, March 16.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular board meeting will  be Wednesday, March. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
