Dresden village board 10/08/09

Meeting:  The Dresden village board met Wednesday, Oct. 8 for one hour and 40 minutes.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There was one member of the public in the audience.
Action:  The board approved Halloween hours to be from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Trustee Dan Egburtson will look into a Web site for the village fire department.  Clerk Terry Dilts presented some information on an offer and she and John Stryker, department of public works supervisor, found online.  She said through this setup, the cost per month ranges from $3.95 to $9.95, plus $3.99 for the domain name.  Dilts added that beyond that, creating the Web site is free.
Discussion without action:  Dilts said their Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage is closed, but will not go away.  She explained they can still add someone to it.  However, Dilts also looked into other coverage and found she can save the village between $3,800 and $8,000, depending on three different plans.  Dilts said she would bring it up again in December, when the new prices are released in November.
• Johns said the village is getting a lot of feedback on the playground.  She said the Lyons Club wants to help.  Dilts said the fund started for the project currently has $1,600.
Appointments/resignations:  The board appointed R.Reynolds to the planning board.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular board meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
