SHORTSVILLE—After leading in the first two quarters of play, Dundee's varsity football team lost to Red Jacket in an away game, Saturday, Sept. 15.
The final score was 24-20. Greg Ellison put the Scots in an early lead by scoring the first touchdown off of a five yard run. In the second quarter, Aksel Jensen passed to Jon Huber who scored. However, Red Jacket scored twice in the third quarter, completing both two-point conversions, and again in the final quarter. Ellison scored the last touchdown off of a six yard hand-off, with a successful two-point run by Colin Prior.
Offensively, Dundee rushed 177 yards, with Ellison's 94 yards over 11 carries. Spencer Deane had eight carries over 54 yards, while Prior also had eight carries for 35 yards.
Dundee accumulated 123 passing yards: Jensen was 7-for-18. Huber caught four passes for 113 of the total yards. On defense, Michael Koehler had eight sacks, seven of which were assisted. Tyler Carruthers had six unassisted tackles. Paul Pollack, Lance Irwin, Ellison, and Justin Brace each had five.
The Scots play at Mechanicville next Saturday, Sept. 22, in an away game.
