DUNDEE--The Dundee Save-A-Lot grocery store will be converting back to an independent ShurFine store.
Store owner Doug Martini said, "We will again carry national brands, offer more customer service and have choice meat selections."
Martini said, "Customers will notice the grocery bag carousel at the check-out registers like many other stores. Customers won't need to bag their own groceries anymore."
Martini commented he expects the change will be finished by about the third week in March.
The store was previously a ShurFine and was converted to a Save-A-Lot by Martini in 2013. During the conversion, many updates were made to the store including shelving, flooring and refrigeration units. Martini purchased the store from Alan and Lew Ann Giles in 2009, who ran the store as Giles ShurFine.
Martini added, "The biggest change will be customer service--I think people will really appreciate the change."
