DUNDEE—The Dundee Scottish Festival was held on Saturday, Sept. 18 with perfect weather for a September day. The festival ran from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the majority of the event taking place at Black Rock Speedway. Organizer Fran Willis said the day included a parade, vendors, featured musical attractions, Scottish culture and athletic demonstrations along with a display of British cars.
The two main musical attractions at the event were the North Sea Gas band, from Scotland, and the City of Washington Pipe Band. Willis explained that organizers want to make this event free if it is held again. She said not being an established event has been frustrating in organizing the festival. Willis said that some participants could not commit because they had other events or competitions to attend.
