2012 DUNDEE, PENN YAN AND HAMMONDSPORT GRADUATIONS

Dundee, Penn Yan and Hammondsport seniors celebrate their accomplishments at graduation

FINGER LAKES—On Friday, June 22, Dundee, Penn Yan and Hammondsport held their graduation ceremonies for the classes of 2012.
Dundee graduated 54 students. Leah Woods and Esther Ninos were the salutatorian and valedictorian respectively for Dundee’s class. Both addressed the graduates at the ceremony with Esther Ninos remarking "(The class of 2012) is a special group . . . I would not trade the time with you for anything."
The Penn Yan Academy senior class had 140 students. Unlike many schools, the academy does not have a valedictorian or salutatorian.
Class president Carolyn Smith said, "what makes today a special event is the opportunities ahead of us."  She also remarked that the Penn Yan class had the opportunity to grow up in an "exceptional community."  School board President Jeff Morehouse told the class to "walk tall, walk proud, and carry your diplomas in your hand."

Hammondsport’s graduating class had 43 students. This year’s valedictorian was Susan Sincerbox. Bennett Preston was the salutatorian.
