Dundee, Penn Yan compete in track meet

DUNDEE—The Dundee and Penn Yan varsity track and field teams competed in a meet on the Scot's new track, Tuesday, April 16. Five teams competed at the meet. The Dundee boys finished second, while Penn Yan was third.

In the 100 meter dash, Michael Koehler won first for Dundee (11.92), followed by Jon Huber in second (12.04) and Chris Cramer in fifth (12.68). In the 200 meter dash, Koehler was also first (24.13) and Huber was second (24.20); Cody Salvatore placed fourth (25.39).
Cramer took third in the 110 meter hurdles (18.30), followed by William Rugg in fifth (20.11). Cramer also won third in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.13). Rugg placed second in the high jump, followed by Aksel Jensen in third. Jensen tied for second in the long jump; Rugg was fifth. In the triple jump, Salvatore was third and Jensen was fifth.
In the shot put, John Kissell won first, Lance Irwin third, and Tyler Carruthers fifth. Kissell and Carruthers took second and third in the discus respectively. Steve Seaman was fifth in the 400 meter dash (1:01.58).
For Penn Yan, Andrew Davis took first in the 1600 meter run (5:01.92). Ben Covert won first in the 800 meter run (2:16.02), and third in the 1600 meter run (5:07.96). Peter Tomlinson was fourth in the 3200 meter run (12:21.48)
In the girls' competition, Penn Yan was third and Dundee fifth. In the long jump, Stephanie Owens won second for Penn Yan, while Lydia Andersen was third. Owens also won second in the long jump, followed by Andersen in third. Hannah Gaston finished second in the triple jump, while Heather Anderson was first in the high jump. Leah Van Son took second in the 400 meter hurdles (1:21.37).
For Dundee, Anna Gilbert took third in the high jump. In the shot put, Amanda Hill was third and Caitlin Schenck was fifth.
