Dundee, Penn Yan track teams place in championship meet

WATERLOO—Penn Yan and Dundee track and field teams competed in the Finger Lakes Championships, Saturday, May 22.
For the boys, Dundee and Penn Yan placed ninth and tenth respectively.  Meanwhile, the Dundee and Penn Yan girls teams tied for 13th place.
Chris Weeden tied for fifth place in the 100 meter dash for Penn Yan, with 12.13.  Lyman Beecher won third in the 3,000 steeplechase, with 10:24.27.  The 4x400 relay team (Beecher, Ben Dinehart, Weeden, and Jeremy Westerfield) took third, with 3:39.41.
For Dundee, Ryan Ballard took fourth in the 400 meter dash, with :54.48.  Christopher Davis won fourth in the 400 hurdles, with 1:00.21.  Ed McClain took third in the Pentathlon, with 1,907.
For Penn Yan girls, Natalie Wagaman won third place in the 2,000 steeplechase, with 8:17.25.  April Doi placed fourth in the high jump, with 4' 6''.
Sue Sprague took third in the shot put with 28' 8'' and fourth in the discus for Dundee, with 89' 33''.
"We’re pleased with the continued progress of our athletes. They focus themselves on improving," said Penn Yan Coach Terry Test.
