Dundee presents 'Arsenic and Old Lace'

DUNDEE—Dundee Central School will present the dark comedy, “Arsenic and Old Lace,” Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11.
Times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Dundee school auditorium. It is directed by Kyle Knapton and Rachel Stephansky.
This play tells the tale of two sweet little old ladies, Abby and Martha (Esther Ninos and Danielle Morgan), who have added poisoning lonely old men to their long list of charities. Their nephews Mortimer and Jonathan (Owen Maloy and Shea Maloy) each have their own reasons to keep this hidden. Jonathan has his own secrets and recently got plastic surgery from Dr. Einstein (Caleb Slater) for a new face.
They are joined by a crazy nephew (Chris Knapp) who believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt and ends up digging graves for the victims, and the love interest, Elaine (Loren Marusarz). The murder, mayhem, and confusion all culminate in one, eventful evening at the aunts’ home.
“Arsenic and Old Lace,” written by Joseph Kesselring, has also been turned into a movie in the 1940s staring Cary Grant.
