Dundee presents musical comedy

DUNDEE--The Dundee Musical Theatre Club will present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.
The student actors have been rehearsing the musical comedy based on the book by Rachel Sheinkin with music and lyrics by William Finn. The story is set at Putnam Valley Middle School and has the characters competing in a spelling bee.
The story has been nominated for six Tony Awards in professional productions. The show is unique as four audience members are selected to participate in the spelling bee.
Director Scott Shepardson calls the production, "A great show with great kids and adults! And four lucky audience members will be called on to be part of the bee."
The cast includes: Hayden Erick as Chip Tolentino, Michelle Conner - Olive Ostrovsky, Paul King - William Barfee, Haille Empson - Rona Lisa Peretti, Seth Williams - Doug Panch, Isabella Levanduski - Logan Schwartzandgrubenierre, Edele Morgan - Marcy Park and Whysper Davis as Leaf Coneybear.
All shows will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
