Dundee’s Irwin second at sectionals

ARKPORT—The Dundee and Hammondsport varsity wrestling teams competed in the Section V Class B championship tournament, Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8, held at Arkport.
The Dundee team took 10th. Lance Irwin (220) placed second in the finals. Bradley Smith (220) won third by beating James Steere (Alfred Almond), 7-3. Paul Pollack (152) was fourth, losing by decision, 4-0. Robert Petro (160) took sixth, getting pinned in 3:41.
Hammondsport was 18th overall. Allen Fitzwater (145) was pinned in 1:13 by Dundee's Brennan Krall and in 2:50 by Avoca's Chris Ross. Derrick Giardina (152) lost in :18 by Dundee's Paul Pollack and in :34 by Keshequa's Ben Nault.
