Dundee will perform 'You Can't Take It With You'

DUNDEE—The Dundee high school is performing a comedic play called “You Can’t Take It With You,” this Friday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 10.
The play features the Sycamore family, who are all eccentric except for one of the daughters, Alice. She is dating Tony Kirby, whose father owns a successful company. Each member of Alice’s family, which includes her parents, sister and brother-in-law, grandfather, and family friends, has their own quirks and hobbies.
The grandfather collects stamps and tends to snakes, the mother is a writer who brings home an alcoholic actress, the sister wants to be a ballet dancer despite lacking the skill, and the father is interested in erector sets and making fireworks. In addition, Alice’s grandfather hasn’t ever paid his income tax and is now being hounded by the Internal Revenue Service. Everything seems to be ruined for the young couple when Tony’s parents meet Alice’s family during a disastrous dinner party.
The play is Dec. 9 and 10, with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets cost $6 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
