HAMMONDSPORT—Two Dundee wrestlers took home first place wins from the Hammondsport Canoe Landing Invitational Tournament, Saturday, Jan. 9.
The tournament featured 14 schools, but wrestlers competed in weight classes only. Dundee's Nick Raplee and Patrick Perez took first place in the 152 and 285 weight classes, respectively. Dundee also had several other medal winners. Dustyn Thompson had the Scots' only second place win, for the 189 weight class. Also in 189 was Stephen Chappel with third place. Travis Howell also had third place in the 215 weight class. Kevin Howell had fourth place, in 215.
Hammondsport's own Josh Snyder was the only Lakers' wrestler to place in his weight class. He had second place in 215.
While Dundee was the only school to have two wrestlers win first places, there were two schools who had three first place winners. Wayland-Cohocton and Keshequa each had one more first place wrestler than Dundee.
