TYRE--Del Lago Resort and Casino will host the sixth annual Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Conference Tuesday, March 27.
The conference was organized by Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension in 2013 as the Brewery and Cidery Startup Workshop. It intended to introduce new brewers to the contacts and information needed to get started. The name was changed in 2015 to reflect the added goal of providing helpful information to people already involved in the craft beverage business.
The conference will feature a trade show, and there will be several speakers for both those interested in beer and cider. The list is available on the event website.
The day after the conference, Wednesday, March 28, there will be separate field trips for cideries and breweries, which will include demonstrations and opportunities to ask questions. The brewery field trip will visit Fleur De Lis Brew Works, where they will be brewing a batch of beer and, weather permitting, allowing attendees to visit their hop yard. The cider field trip will visit Red Jacket Orchards, where attendees will visit the tree nursery and the Cider Lab. Registration for each trip costs $20 and includes light beverages, but space is very limited.
The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature tracks for breweries and cideries. Registration costs $100 until Tuesday, March 20 when the price will increase to $115. This includes materials, continental breakfast, lunch, a post-conference social hour and a 2018 FLCBC glass.
This event is geared toward those who are getting started in the craft beverage business, those who are already members of it and those who want to learn more about the industry.
