Foundation donates two laptops to Dundee center

DUNDEE—The Tony Collins Foundation has donated two new laptop computers to the Dundee Area Youth Center.
The two computers were given to the center last Thursday, Nov. 3.  Sheila Burt, foundation member, explained the organization’s focus is to help youth in the Finger Lakes.  She said they want to branch out into other areas; This is the first donation by the foundation in Dundee.
“To help Dundee is part of the focus,” Burt said.
Jeff Morehouse explained Collins visited the Dundee Area Youth Center last year and said he wanted to help.  The center was then added to the foundation’s list of charities.
Beth Taylor, director of the youth center, said they needed more computers so the foundation donated the two laptops.  She added Dundee children will have the chance to sign-out the laptops and actually use them at home for school work.
Morehouse explained the foundation’s only fundraiser is the annual Tony Collins golf classic.  Collins is a Penn Yan native who played nine seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.  His successful career was highlighted by a Pro Bowl selection in 1983, a single-game rushing record of 212 yards for the Patriots, and a trip to Super Bowl XX.
