Gill, Stamp take top wins in Watkins' Spud Run

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen Central School District celebrated St. Patrick's Day with the annual Spud Run, Thursday, March 15.
Students and staff dressed in green and ran 1.7 miles at the school and on the Catharine Valley Trail. Matt Gill led overall in first place. Josh Langley was in second, followed by Charlie Bascom in third, John Fausold in fourth, and Josh Hamelin in fifth. All five top runners were also on the same team: boys track and field. Nick Sorensen and Braeden Fitch were sixth and seventh for the tennis team. The top girls runner was Amelia Stamp.
At the end of the race awards were given to the top runners by grade level and for staff, as well as the participants dressed in the most green.
