HAMMONDSPORT—For the 35th year, families gathered at the Hammondsport village square for the annual Christmas in the Park, Saturday, Dec. 10.
The event ran from 4 to 8 p.m, and started with the Keuka Lake Players performing Pearl S. Buck’s “Christmas Day in the Morning” at the First Presbyterian Church. Meanwhile, food and craft vendors were set up in the park. Following the play, the Keuka Lake Players sang “Oh, Christmas Tree” during the tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m.
The music continued at 5:10 p.m. with the Penn Yan Community Choir singing selections from Handel’s “Messiah.” The Hammondsport elementary school band and choir performed next at 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. respectively. The St. Thomas Bellringers provided music at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Hammondsport Methodist Church Choir at 7 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived at 6 p.m. by fire truck with reindeer awaiting their arrival.
