Hammondsport school board 12/14/11

    Meeting:  The Hammondsport school board met Wednesday, Dec. 14.
    Attendance:  All board members were present.
    Action:  The board approved the 2012-13 Greater Southern Tier BOCES schedule and service fees.
    • A donation of musical equipment from Bath resident John Stranges was approved.
    Discussion without action:  The board recognized elementary student Elissa Martinez for volunteering with Project Care.  Elementary staff Leo Stermole and Kelley Meade, and the high school’s Deb Bowers were also recognized.
    • The district received a letter from New York State School Music Association congratulating Hammondsport on the students who participated in All-State performances.
    Appointments/resignations:  The following appointments were approved:
    • Megan Deats, day to day certified substitute teacher at $80/day; teacher assistant at $70/day; aide or clerical substitute at $60/day.
    • Stephen Halferty, day to day certified substitute teacher at $80/day.
    • Shannon Gibbs, day to day certified special education, kindergarten to 12 substitute teacher at $80/day; teacher assistant at $70/day; teacher aide or clerical substitute at $60/day.
    • Marybeth Haar, substitute in the areas of clerical, district office clerical/confidential, and teacher aide at the rate of $60/day.
    • Brianna Longwell, student teacher for Kammi Sanford from Jan. 3, 2012 through Jan. 31, 2012.
    • Marianne Calafiore, Keuka College Field Experience.
    • Kory Meritt, day to day substitute teacher aide at the rate of $60/day and substitute teacher assistant at the rate of $70/day.
    • Janet McConologue, substitute teaching assistant at the rate of $70/day.
    Upcoming meetings:  The next regular school board meeting is Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m.
