Hammondsport tops Wheatland-Chili, advances in sectionals

HAMMONDSPORT—The Hammondsport boys varsity basketball team beat Wheatland-Chili, Wednesday, Feb. 24, to advance to the next round of sectionals.
The Lakers ended the game, 54-43.  Coach Jon Lowin said both teams spent most of the game within three points of each other, until the last four minutes.
"It was a team victory and our best game of the year," said Lowin.
Kevin Arnold was the Lakers' highest scorer with 18 points.  Ryan House was next with 15 points.    Justyn Schuck had nine points and James Obrochta had eight points.  Hammondsport was 15-24 at the free throw line.
The boys basketball team plays next at Prattsburg, Saturday, Feb. 27.
