Hammondsport will perform 'Wonderland'
HAMMONDSPORT--The Hammondsport Central School Drama Club will present "Wonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure," Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10. The shows will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hammondsport auditorium.
The musical is adapted from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There." The book is by Rachel Rockwell with music by Michael Mahler.
The story follows Alice as she meets all the familiar Wonderland characters but features an array of musical numbers from classic rock to punk and more. Alice must overcome her fears and be tested by the Jabberwocky, a monster of doubt and insecurity. Through the journey, Alice gains confidence as she discovers her inner voice.
Alice will be played by Emily Sofio and Pia Bacubac. The other cast members include: Travis Raab and Maeve Frost (Cheshire Cat), Amanda O'Donnell (Mad Hatter), Anna Vogel (March Hare), Jesse Bray (Caterpillar), Natalie Lowin and Rorie Whitcomb (Red Queen), Andrew Hill (White Rabbit), Anya Brown (Lorina), Gavin Ruddy (Tweedle Dum), Matthew Cole (Tweedle Dee), Emma Thompson (Dormouse), Madison Pifer (Felicite), Rorie Whitcomb and Natalie Lowin (Bianca), Michael Hurlbert (King of Hearts), Maeve Frost and Travis Raab (Seven), Anya Brown, Delaney Cole, Victoria Morgan, Danielle Bennett and Emilee Hurd (Roses) and Pia Bacubac and Emily Sofio (Unicorn).
The pit band includes Tom Mitchell (keyboards), Ilya Ivanov (guitar), Brianna Hill (bass guitar), Rachael Derby (ukulele) and Brian Mitchell (drums).
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students or seniors. Tickets are available at the door or through any cast member.
