Hector parade fills Rt. 414

HECTOR—The Hector Fair was in full swing Friday July, 29 as the annual parade offered firefighters, emergency personnel, and even a few tractors a chance to close down Rt. 414 in Hector.  Various area fire departments were on hand as well a performance by the Pride Dance-Twirl Corps.
On Saturday, the fair will open at noon.  In addition to ride specials, there will be various events.  A fireworks display will start at 11:15 p.m.  The fair will include a library book sale tent, commercial displays, Cornell Cooperative Extension animals, games, exhibits and demonstrations.  A cake booth will be open each day, at which visitors may take chances to win the cake of their choice.  Vendors will also have items for sale.
The fair is an annual fundraiser for the volunteer fire department.  The Hector-Logan-Valois Fireman's Field is located nine miles north of Watkins Glen on Route 414, next to Ball Diamond Road.
