Holiday activities include parade, fireworks

FINGER LAKES--If you love a good old-fashioned parade and fireworks, get ready for the Fourth of July celebration in Branchport.
The Independence Day activities are scheduled for Wednesday, July 4 with the annual parade starting at 2 p.m. on Main Street.
This year marching units, fire trucks, antique cars and tractors, clowns, floats, the Freedom Village USA group and more will be in the parade.
Then in the evening, approximately 10 p.m., the fireworks display will start behind the Finger Lakes Museum Discovery Campus (the former Branchport Elementary School).
In Penn Yan, many will also attend the annual July 4 fly-in / drive-in pancake breakfast at the Penn Yan Airport. The event is open to the public and goes from 6:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.Airplane rides and vintage aircraft on display will be at the airport for the morning event.
If you love fireworks, get your family members and friends along with your favorite chairs or blankets and get ready to enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks display in Watkins Glen Friday, July 6.
Rebekah Carroll, the Chamber's chief executive officer said, "We are pleased to continue to sponsor the long-standing tradition of Watkins Glen celebrating this great country's freedom with the best fireworks display around!"
This year's show will be Friday, July 6 at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Many people will view the fireworks from Clute Memorial Park in Watkins and others in nearby locations can't miss the lights and sounds in the sky.
Carroll said Young Explosives Corporation of Rochester will produce the show. The company produces more than 400 fireworks shows annually.
