Indians fall 43-41 in close game

ODESSA—The Odessa-Montour girls varsity basketball team fell to Spencer-Van Etten after a close game, Friday, Jan. 31. The final score was 43-41.
The two teams were tied 22-22 at halftime, with Spencer at a 30-29 lead after the third quarter. Addi Rhodes gave Odessa a 37-32 lead midway through the fourth. Following Spencer's 41-39 lead, Trisha Williams tied the score 41-41 with a steal and a lay-up shot. However, Spencer once again gained the lead with 30 second left in the game.
"It was an absolute bloodbath out there and we kept battling until the end," said Coach Greg Gavich. "A great effort that just fell short. My girls left everything out there on the floor, very proud of their effort."
Hailie Searles scored 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Indians. Addi Rhodes had 10 points, while Trisha Williams added seven points and six steals. Gillian Clark and Nakiaha Robinson each scored six points.
