Indians take Tioga again

 

ODESSA—After the boys varsity soccer team beat Tioga the day before, the girls soccer team also bested the school, Thursday, Sept. 23.
The final score was 2-0.  Odessa scored once in each half.  First was Olivia Walrad, unassisted.  Katie Ray scored next.  The ball crossed over from Jocelyn Garrison on the left side for the assist.
In the goal, Allison Stamp had four saves, with one shutout.  The Indians attempted 15 shots total, and had seven corner kicks.
“It was a good team win,” said Coach Burton Brewster.
He explained that Tioga was the division champion for the last two years, and with this win, Odessa is currently two wins ahead of them.
Odessa is now 6-2 for the season.
Indians lose to Newark
The girls soccer team lost to Newark Valley, Monday, Sept. 20 in an away game.
The final score was 3-0. CoachBrewster said the girls played a good first half and “played hard from start to finish.” However, he added that “Newark was just a better team that game.”
Odessa had 11 shots on Newark’s goal, and one corner kick. Allison Stamp had 18 saves.
