Lake group plans water quality meeting

GENEVA--Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association will be holding a Water Quality Summit Saturday, March 24 at the Warren Hunting Smith Library on the campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Doors will open at 9 a.m. in the Geneva room of the library, with the talks beginning at 9:30 a.m. The topics are as follows: "Seneca Lake Water Quality Monitoring Overview," "Stream Monitoring Program and Results," "Shoreline Monitoring--Harmful Algae Blooms (HABs)," "Finger Lakes Institute Research Findings," "A Summary of Water Quality Conditions across New York State," and "Seneca Lake Water Quality: Now and Then a Historical Comparison."
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., and water quality partnership actions will begin at 1 p.m. The topics are "Blueprint for Successful Pollution Mitigation," "Seneca Watershed Intermunicipal Organization Overview & Update," "Preventing Stormwater Runoff with Green Infrastructure," and "Agricultural Environmental Management Program"
At 2:30 p.m., there will be a panel discussion with presenters. The summit will end at 3:30 p.m.
