Lakers advance to sectional semifinals

HAMMONDSPORT—The Hammondsport boys varsity basketball team advances to the Section V Class D1 semifinals by beating Elba, 66-55, Saturday, Feb. 23. The Lakers, seeded fourth, will compete against University Prep, seeded first, Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Ryan Eckel led the Lakers with 19 points and 15 rebounds, followed by Gavin Cornish with 17 points. Trenton Kolodziejczak scored 10. Danny Becker followed with nine. Hammondsport's record is currently 15-4.
