BATH—Hammondsport's varsity volleyball team lost to Romulus in the Section V Class D semifinals, Wednesday, Nov. 3. Romulus beat the Lakers in a four set match. The scores were 25-27, 25-22, 9-25, 23-25, with Hammondsport winning only the second game. Andrea Miller had seven aces and nine kills. Brooke Clark had six kills and four aces. Lauren Binnert had 18 assists, four aces, and five kills. Alissa Walruth had nine digs and six aces. Carly Presley had five kills and three aces. Coach Julie Amsden said the team only had two losses this season, and both were to Romulus. She said the Lakers played much better this match than the last time against Romulus. "I'm disappointed that we lost, but pleased generally the way we played," said Amsden.
