Lakers lose to Jasper-Troopsburg, 52-50

HAMMONDSPORT—The Hammondsport boys varsity basketball team lost to Jasper-Troopsburg, 52-50, at a home game, Wednesday, Jan. 20.
The Lakers started the game ahead, but Jasper-Troopsburg whittled away at it throughout the game.  Hammondsport lost the lead during the last quarter of the game.
Coach Jon Lowin said Ryan House made a lay-up shot to tie the two schools with 12.2 seconds left in the game.  However, Jasper Troopsburg scored with five seconds left to put them back in the lead.
"It was an intense and well played game by both teams," said Lowin.
Justyn Schuck scored the most for Hammondsport with 19 points.  He made three three-point shots and had seven steals.  House was next with 15 points.  Ricky Rosekrans had seven points and nine rebounds.
