Lakers tennis beats Addison

HAMMONDSPORT—The Lakers upped their record to 5-1 on the season, while handing Addison its first tennis defeat of the year with a 5-0 sweep Wednesday, May 6. First singles player, Chris Haluszczak, downed his opponent 6-2, 6-2. Haluszczak qualified for sectionals with the win, according to Coach Adam French.
“Chris is having a good year so far,” Hammondsport head coach Adam French said. “Dan Carr played well against him, but Chris is really on top of his game. He had very few unforced errors.” Peter Woods and Josh Malone completed the singles sweep for Hammondsport. Malone won his matches 6-0, 6-0. “Peter and Josh played well. It was the best I’ve seen Josh play this year,” French said.
