HIMROD--The Yates County Sheriff's office issued a fifth update about the search for a missing person in Seneca Lake, Saturday, April 25. Sheriff Ron Spike reports assets devoted to the search and recovery of the man have officially ended after five consecutive days of searching without any success.
The initial incident occurred Sunday, April 19, with two men paddling a canoe across Seneca Lake. Neither were wearing personal flotation devices but were fully clothed. Before dusk a mishap occurred with both men onboard going into the water. Keith Seymore, 27, was rescued before midnight, Daniel Manganano, 27, was not found.
It is estimated the depth at the search locations was around 600 feet. Snow, wind and rain also hampered recovery efforts.
