Montour approves all-terrain restrictions MONTOUR FALLS—The Montour Falls village board approved new regulations, limiting the use of all-terrain and other off-road vehicles within the village, Thursday, Sept. 20. A public hearing was held during the meeting. The rules state that the vehicles would be allowed on properties one acre or larger and ban them from village sidewalks and right-of-ways. Montour Falls village board 9/6/12 MONTOUR FALLS—The Montour Falls board approved Bill Christoffels to continue using the village hall second floor as a performing space. Christoffels said the summer season of melodrama productions has ended, but he wanted to continue offering something into the fall. The Courthouse Performing Arts Center will offer free Sunday afternoon concerts in October. Truck spills 4,875 gallons of paint in Montour MONTOUR FALLS—A truck carrying 4,875 gallons of white, road paint overturned in Montour Falls and spilled into the Steuben Street ditch, Wednesday morning, Aug. 15. Montour Falls Fire Chief Jeff Confer explained the truck, owned by Wistar Trucking, was turning onto Steuben Street from Mill Street, when the vehicle flipped completely over and 15 containers of paint spilled into the ditch after 6 a.m. Read More ... Montour rejects gateway project bids MONTOUR FALLS—The Montour Falls village board rejected bids for work on the gateway project, Thursday, July 26, because they were all over the budgeted amount. The gateway project is planned to improve the entrance of the Main Street business district. It includes work to the Route 14 intersection, painted crosswalks, new lighting, and planting trees.
