Montour Falls Harvest Festival will celebrate the season

MONTOUR FALLS--As the days get shorter and the temperatures cooler, many fall activities are available in the Finger Lakes. Montour Falls will have a number of favorites all in one place at the annual Falls Harvest Festival, Saturday, Oct. 5 from 12 to 7 p.m.
The day-long celebration has entertainment planned throughout the day with a child-focused family area. The kid zone will have face-painting, games, prizes and more.
The entertainment stage will feature several performers. Nate the Great juggling will start off at noon and be followed by Dream Barn Productions at 1 p.m. Tanglewood Nature Center takes the stage from 2 to 3 p.m. before Nate the Great has an encore at 3 p.m. There is a puppet show from 4 to 5 p.m., with Paul Antonio Magic at following at 5 p.m. Weather permitting, a bonfire and fire performer is scheduled at 6 p.m. Fireworks over Shequaga Falls conclude the evening at 7 p.m.
Over 40 craft and food vendors are expected to participate in the event on Main Street in Montour Falls.
There will also be a Ghost Walk Tour provided by Schuyler County Historian Gary Emerson from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The Montour Falls Library will offer apple tastings, an art show by students from Odessa-Montour school, wool spinning demonstrations and a book sale. A donut eating contest will occur at Paradiso's Village Bakery at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Been There - A Community Cafe is also hosting live music and a haunted speakeasy theater.
