Montour Falls plans festival event

MONTOUR FALLS--The Montour Falls Fire Department will host the 62nd annual festival, Thursday, June 7 to Saturday, June 9. Thursday and Friday the festival begins at 6 p.m. and Saturday at noon.
As always, the parade of bands will fill the streets as the numerous groups march to the festival grounds. The parade will begin at 5 p.m., Saturday. Scheduled to appear: The Montour Falls Fire Department Band, Savannah Cellar Savers, Dundee Steel Band, Corning Painted Post Marching Hawks, Caledonian Highlanders, Canaserga Marching Band, Addison High Marching Band, Jasper-Troupsburg Marching Band, Fairport Fire Department Band, Canisteo-Greenwood Marching Band and the Kirby Band.
Admission to the festival is free and there will be ride wristbands available. Live entertainment will be provided each night with the groups Rusted Bucks (Thursday), Rust (Friday) and Devon Franks (Saturday) performing.
The festival will feature food, rides, games and bingo. There will also be clams and craft beer available.
A beanbag toss tournament will be the main attraction, Saturday, June 9. A maximum of 20 teams will compete beginning at 10 a.m. and run to 3 p.m. This is the second year for the competition at the festival grounds.
