Montour festival will showcase bands, parade

MONTOUR FALLS--The Montour Falls Fire Department will hold the 63rd annual festival, Thursday, June 6 to Saturday, June 8. Activities will be available all days with a Jacob Bryant concert Friday night and the parade of bands Saturday.
Thursday opens the festival with a family night. The grounds will open at 6 p.m. and wristbands will be available for the rides.
The festival opens again at 6 p.m. Friday with a concert by RJ Scouton at 7 p.m. and Jacob Bryant at 8 p.m. Both will perform on the Cayuga Health System Stage.
Saturday will include a cornhole tournament for preregistered participants at 10 a.m., while the fairgrounds will be open at noon. The chicken barbecue will also get underway at noon.
The annual parade of bands begins at 5 p.m. There will be more than 10 marching bands including Montour Falls, Cellar Savers, Caledonian Highlanders, Addison High School marching band, Corning-Painted Post marching band, Dundee Steel Drum, Canaseraga, Jasper-Troupsburg, Prattsburgh and more.
At 7 p.m. a concert will feature RUST.
Food, rides, games, bingo, clams and craft beer round out the activities for the weekend.
The event has free admission.
