Musical events set for this weekend

PENN YAN—The Penn Yan Middle School Drama Club will be performing The Music Man Jr. this coming weekend. The show will run from Friday, Feb. 7, to Sunday, Feb. 9. Performances will take place Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., with a matinee Sunday at 2 p.m.
Directed by Rebekah Prine, the cast of students will be performing the musical adaptation based off the Broadway show written by Meredith Willson. The Music Man received a Tony Award in 1958 for Best Musical.
The story features traveling salesman Harold Hill (played by seventh-grader Garrett Golden) as he attempts to dupe the residents of River City, Iowa into purchasing instruments for a band he is organizing.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors and can be purchased at the door prior to the show.

Dundee winter concert  features Paris Texas

DUNDEE—The Dundee Baptist Church on Seneca Street will be hosting a Winter Concert sponsored by Our Town RoCKS, featuring the music of Paris Texas Saturday, Feb. 8. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. and will include performances by Bobby Henrie and Rick Manning playing traditional bluegrass, western and gypsy swing. Tickets for the show are available for $10 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds from the ticket sales are going to benefit the Dundee Food Pantry.
