ODESSA—The Indians fell to the Tigers in a Friday, Sept. 10, football game. The final score was 35-6, in Tioga’s favor. Odessa scored its only touchdown with 4:55 left in the final quarter. The Indians took possession of the ball to score when Joe Markley intercepted it at 11:15. Odessa got a first down later when Markley rushed 24 yards, to Tioga’s 25 yard line. From there, James Williams scored the touchdown. Odessa Coach Jack McCauley said Tioga controlled the ball in the first half, “and we let them.” It was in the first part of the game that the Tigers scored 29 of their points. Markley had the most tackles with 10 and one interception. Tom Starkweather also had nine tackles. Markley had 10 rushes for 52 yards. Williams had eight rushes with 40 yards, and the touchdown. Quarterback Kyle Bailey was one-for-three with 15 yards. The Indians play next at Groton, Sept. 17.
