Odessa falls to VanEtten, 58-32

ODESSA—While the Odessa-Montour boys basketball team lost to Spencer VanEtten, Tuesday, Jan. 5, the O-M girls brought home a win.
The O-M boys team lost in a home game, 58-32.  Meanwhile, the girls basketball team was facing Spencer VanEtten at an away game and won, 56-26.
However, one highlight from the boys' game was at the end of the third quarter.  With seconds left on the clock and Odessa just gaining possession of the ball, Phil Smith scored a three point shot just at the buzzer.  Smith also scored the last point in the game for O-M, with a free throw shot and a minute left on the clock.
Tom Peckham scored the most points for the Indians with 11.  Dan Stephens scored seven points, and both Seimei Sanga and Travor Carey scored four points each.
The O-M boys basketball team plays at Newark Valley next, Jan. 8.
