Odessa girls fall to Tioga, 50-37

ODESSA—The Odessa-Montour girls varsity basketball team lost a hard fought game to Tioga, ranked number two in Class C, Thursday, Jan. 13.
The final score was 50-37.  Odessa was down 26-15 at halftime.  Coach Greg Gavich added the girls "made a nice run to cut it to 43-32 with 4:09 to go, but could get no closer."
"We had too many unforced turnovers in the first half, then couldn't buy a shot in the third quarter.  We were 15-for-51 from the field," said Gavich.  "You're not going to pull off an upset shooting under 30 percent."
Michelle Melanson led the Indians with 13 points. Katie Ray had eight points.  Allison Stamp followed with six points and eight rebounds.
Taylor Carey had four points and six rebounds.  Jocelyn Garrison also had four points and Taylor Thoman contributed another two.
Odessa is now 7-2 this season.
