Odessa-Montour school board 7/12/12

    Meeting:  The Odessa-Montour school board met Thursday, July 12, for 45 minutes.
    Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were five people in the audience.
    Action:  The school board approved the annual appointments and designations for the reorganizational meeting.
    •  Three positions were eliminated (one special education teacher and two elementary teachers).  The board reduced one science and one music teacher positions from full time to .6 full time equivalent.
    •  The Odessa-Montour Teachers Association contract was approved, effective July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2015.
    •  The 2013 graduation date was set for June 21, 2013.
    Discussion without action:  Superintendent Jim Frame said the district submitted the Annual Performance Professional Review agreement to the state.  The deadline was the start of this month.
    Appointments/resignations:  Debra Harrington was reelected as board of education president and Karen Rock was reelected as the vice president.  Rock, Damita Chamberlain, and Rob Halpin were also sworn in to the board.
    •  Frame was approved to be the qualified lead evaluator of building principals and classroom teachers.
    Upcoming meetings:  The next school board meeting is Thursday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m.
