Odessa presents 'Annie Get Your Gun'

ODESSA—The Odessa-Montour High School is gearing up to perform “Annie Get Your Gun” Thursday to Saturday, March 17 to 19.
The musical is based on the true story of Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. The plot was originally a novel and then a musical by Irving Berlin. The story also features Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show of cowboys and Indians.
Annie Oakley joins the troop after winning a shooting competition with the show’s top star, Frank Butler. Both sharpshooters end up falling in love with each other. Meanwhile, the Wild West Show experiences competition from the rival Pawnee Bill’s Far East Show.
There are over 40 O-M students in the cast, with some of the main roles being performed by different students depending on the night. Annie is played by Morgan Stermer and Alyssa Bleiler, while Frank is Aaron Fisher and Sam Capozzi. Buffalo Bill will be played by Joe Markley and the Wild West Show’s Manager Charlie Davenport will be played by both Taylor Gilbert and Anthony Curren.
The musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. all three days. There will also be a a 2 p.m. showing, Saturday, March 19. Tickets cost $6 for students, $7 for senior citizens and $8 for adults.
