Odessa swimmers top Whitney Point


ODESSA--The Odessa-Montour girls varsity swimming team beat Whitney Point, 55-17, in a home meet, Thursday, Sept. 11.


"The girls swam well again tonight. Many of them tried different events, and some posted personal records in the process. Overall I am very happy with the way they are progressing," said Coach Terri Brace.


The 200 medley relay team (Amy Fudala, Tori Reese, Lovonna Carrigan, and Emelia Paulisczak) won first with 2:29.81. The 200 free relay team (Paulisczak, McKenna Carberry, Carrigan, and Emma Raymond) took first with 2:13.37. The 400 free relay team (Reese, Fudala, Emma Lodge, and Raymond) also won with 5:11.19.


Paulisczak was first in the 100 free (1:07.43) and the 50 free (30.88). Other first place wins came from Raymond in the 200 free (2:29.31), Reese in the 200 IM (2:52.06), Carrigan in the 100 fly (1:43.71), Reese in the 500 free (7:03.68), and Fudala in the 100 backstroke (1:21.75).


Personal records came from Gabby Cain in the 200 free (3:05.11), Fudala in the 100 backstroke (1:21.75), and Carrigan in the 100 breaststroke 1:42.20.
