Odessa, Watkins compete in 'Legends of the Night'


ODESSA―The Odessa-Montour varsity track team hosted their annual Legends of the Night track meet, Friday, May 2.


Watkins was 11th overall for the boys, while Odessa was 13th. The Senecas' girls also placed 11th overall, followed by the Indians in 12th.


For Watkins, Matt Gill won first in the 800 meter run (1:59.33). Patrick Hazlitt was third in the 1600 meter run (4:53.24). Jacob Carocci placed 10th in the 800 meter run (2:16.91) and 14th in the high jump (5'00.00"). Shawn Rutledge was sixth in the 3200 meter run (10:44.25) and 15th in the 400 meter hurdles (1:11.54).
Aidan DeBolt took 16th in the 400 meter dash (59.87). Thomas Schmitt was 13th in the discus (95'00.00") and 12th in the shot put (35'06.00"), while Matt Woodworth took eighth in the pole vault (9'00.00"). Ryan Pruitt placed 14th in the long jump (16'05.00") and 17th in the triple jump (30'10.00").


Taylor Kennard was second in the 3000 meter run (11:58.97) for the girls. Maggie Bond placed eighth in the 1500 meter run (5:35.38). De'naja Blanchard took sixth in the 200 meter dash (29.53), while Isobel Scheffey was seventh in the 400 meter dash (1:06.57). Lindsey Suddaby took seventh in the pole vault (7'06.00"). Lucy Craig placed eighth in the shot put (26'03.00") and ninth in the discus (77'03.00"). Claire McManus took 10th in the triple jump (27'02.50"). Joelle Slater was 11th in the 400 meter hurdles (1:24.14). Clara Chedzoy placed 13th in the 800 meter run (2:46.53). Julia Reilly was 13th in the 3000 meter run (14:32.84).
For Odessa, Bryce Elliott took third in the discus (120'03.00") and sixth in the shot put (38'08.00"). Charles Sidle was seventh in the long jump (17'04.00") and ninth in the triple jump (36'02.00"). Andy Fudala placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (18.71), 10th in the 400 meter hurdles (1:09.75), and 10th in the pole vault (8'06.00").
In the high jump, Tyler Goossen was 12th (5'02.00") followed by Chad Sykes in 13th (5'00.00"). Luke Eberhardt scored 11th in the 1600 meter run (5:13.05) and 16th in the 800 meter run (2:23.18). Andy Stevenson was 17th in the 3200 meter run (12:58.34). Nick Sgrecci placed 15th in the triple jump (32'04.00").
For the girls, Rosie Peckham took fourth in the high jump (4'04.00"), while Maia Rumsey was 12th (4'02.00").
Dana Roberts took fourth in the long jump (14'07.00") and seventh in the 100 meter dash. Hailie Searles was sixth in the 3000 meter run (12:26.96).


Sarah Simmons placed seventh in the shot put (26'07.50") and seventh in the discus (78'08.00"). Haile Perrault took 16th in the 400 meter dash (1:10.67). April Dunn was 17th in the 1500 meter dash (5:54.27) and Callie Stillman took 12th place in the 400 meter hurdles (1:24.54).
