Oliver House hosts Cornell centennial exhibit

PENN YAN--The Cornell Cooperative Extension office in Yates County is celebrating 100 years.
To mark the occasion, the Yates County Cornell Cooperative Extension along with the New York State Farm Bureau is hosting an exhibit at the Oliver House Museum Friday, Oct. 5 to celebrate the milestone. The exhibit opens at noon and will feature images and artifacts reviewing the past 100 years in Yates County agriculture.
The event will also feature guest speakers from the Yates County History Center, New York State Farm Bureau, and the CCE-Yates County Board of Directors. Assemblyman Phil Palmesano will also be in attendance presenting a proclamation from the state.
This event is part of the statewide "Path Through History" weekend. The Yates County History Center's Oliver House Museum, located at 200 Main St. in Penn Yan, will also be open Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as part of the celebration.
