Outlaw Speedway opens for practice

DUNDEE--Outlaw Speedway is revving up for the 2018 racing season. The Dundee track will hold an open practice Friday, April 13. Grandstand entry will be free and pits will be $20.
The third annual Spring Nationals, the first racing event of the season, will be held Friday, April 20. Pit admission is $40 and grandstand seating is $22. Children 12 and under can enter at no cost. Pits open at 3 p.m., grandstands open at 4:30 p.m., and the race will begin at 7 p.m.
Kenny Shupp, with Outlaw Speedway, said the event will feature "360 Sprints along with the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds and in each case a multitude of support classes including but not limited to Grit Sportsman, Street Stocks, IMCA Fastshaft, Crate Late Models, Hobby Stocks, Bandits and 4 Cylinders Outlaw Style." The same is true for Summer Nationals, Fall Nationals and the Dutch Hoag Memorial Weekend events.
From the time the main entrance gates open for Spring Nationals at 4:30 p.m. to the end of the racing season in October, fans will be able to climb aboard the new Outlaw Speedway Monster Truck to tour the facilities. The 16-passenger truck will grant riders a perspective otherwise exclusive to racers.
As Outlaw Speedway owner Tyler Siri stated, "There aren't many venues offering this unique opportunity for fans to observe the entire facility where they can get a totally different view of what goes on behind the scenes including seeing the crews working on the cars in the pit area as well as taking a lap around the 4/10 of a mile clay oval."
Siri continued, "This is a wonderful thing for the kids, as they get a high-up look at the surroundings and at the same time the monster truck goes through the pit area where they can see what happens on the other side of the track."
Representatives of both ESS and the Patriot Sprint Tour have indicated about 40 360 Sprint Cars will represent the two organizations, as it is the season opener for both sprint organizations.
