Outstanding fire department service

WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen Fire Department held their annual banquet to recognize members for exceptional service, Saturday, April 22. Training, response and special awards were presented. Joe Matwiejow was honored for 60 years of service by 50 year Tyrone veteran Ron Tormey during the evening. Matwiejow received plaques from the Watkins Glen Fire Department, Tyrone, Ray Miller (Dundee) and the state for his service.
• Bill Beardsley had the most training hours (64.5) in the Watkins Glen Fire Department last year.
• Nick Dalrymple was awarded the top responder recognition (216 calls).
• Jason Hudson was presented with the Charles Smith 1 Firefighter Award.
