Penn Yan baseball, softball beats Waterloo

PENN YAN—The Penn Yan softball and baseball teams beat Waterloo, Friday, April 9.
The softball team won, 11-2.  Coach Martin Kubli said the team had five runs in the second inning, giving the Mustangs the lead.  He added Penn Yan stayed in control of the game from there on out.
Brianna Bush threw six strikeouts, had a double, and three RBIs.  Amanda Rivera was 2-for-3, had a single and a triple, and five RBIs.
The Penn Yan varsity baseball team beat Waterloo, 5-2.  Coach Marty Olmstead said Mike Wasburn pitched nine strikeouts for the Mustangs, matching Waterloo's pitcher as well.  Elliott Eckerson also scored two hits.
The baseball and softball teams play next at Wayne, April 12.
